PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Rotadata traversing systems provide accuracy in positioning aerodynamic probes in almost any kind of flow stream including that found in the highly aggressive environment of the compressor or turbine stages in a working jet engine. The specialised technology developed specifically for working in such environments ensures the Rotadata traversing systems are suitable for alomst any engineering application.

The heart of the Rotadata traversing system is the 2-axis actuator. Constructed from the highest quality materials and able to withstand any normal vibration stresses, the actuators can give un-interrupted, trouble-free periods of engine testing and are capable of significantly reducing test-bed time and engine development costs.

The tangential actuators are constructed to the same aerospace standards as the radial/yaw actuator mounted piggy-back. For comprehensive area mapping, multi-actuator installations are frequently specified, all actuators being computer controlled to ensure fully automated testing.

Rotadata Actuator Types

Rotadata actuators have specific model definitions for ease of reference and fall into the following categories:

RTM is Rotadata's miniature radial/yaw actuator offered with standard radial strokes of 25mm (1 inch), 100mm (4 inches) and 150mm (6 inches). The maximum probe outside diameter for use with the RTM actuators is 8mm (0.3 inches). The maximum environmental operating temperature is 50C.

RTA is Rotadata's standard radial/yaw actuator offered with radial strokes of 25mm (1 inch), 50mm(2 inches), 90mm(3.5 inches), 190mm (7.5 inches) and 290mm(11.4 inches). The maximum probe outside diameter for use with the RTA actuators os 12.7mm (0.5 inches). The maximum environmental operating temperature without an environmental enclosure is 150C. With an environmental enclosure the maximum environmental operating temperature is 250C.

RTB is Rotadata's tangential actuator usually used in combination with an RTA actuator. RTB actuators have standard strokes of 150mm (6 inches) and 200mm (8 inches). The maximum probe outside diameter for use with the RTB actuators is 12.7mm (0.5inches). The maximum environmental operating temperature os 75C.

RTC is Rotadata's long stroke radial/yaw actuator offered with radial strokes of 230mm (9 inches) and 460mm (18 inches). The maximum probe outside diameter for use with the RTC actuators is 22mm (0.85 inches). The maximum environmental operating temperature is 150C.
